DOSE
Molly McFadden at WILD TULIPS
07 / 08 / 21 – 14 / 08 / 21

WILD TULIPS Outreach presents Dose, an exhibition by recent graduate Molly McFadden.
Molly McFadden, b. 1998, is a painter from Derry and a graduate of Wimbledon College of Arts, 2020 (UAL). She currently lives and works in Derry.
McFadden’s work looks, indirectly, at facets of the post-conflict climate of the North. In her practice, the artist subverts the often-territorialised notion of the symbol, to discuss painful points of contention from a place of neutrality. In Dose, McFadden considers the bleed of the internal to the external, the extension of the traumatized body to the traumatized land and anguish as our ancient scourge, in her attempt to describe the psychic landscape of the North.
Due to lockdown restrictions in 2020, many new art graduates did not get a chance to have their final degree show. WILD TULIPS Outreach is providing a space over summer 2021 for three painting graduates to have solo shows. WILD TULIPS Outreach provides a platform for new graduates and the next generation of artists.
WILD TULIPS is an initiative of Clarendon Street Studios C.I.C. in Derry, funded by Derry City and Strabane District Council and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
